The house was decorated in pink when we got home.
Welcome home Baby Kate.
Eli holding baby Kate for the first time. He loves her so much and giggles when he is near her.
Kate's first doctor appt.
Big girl!
We needed a little pink around our house.
This is what Kate will look like when she is two.
7lbs. 12oz, 21 1/4" It's a girl!
You think that when you are going to have a c-section you will have your hair and makeup done . . . not so much.
Our first photo with our daughter.
Eli was excited to meet baby Kate, but not excited to see mommy hooked up to IV's and in that big bed. He kept reaching his hand out to me and saying "my hand", as though he was going to help me out of bed.
Triplets. Carl is a wonderful dad.
Isn't she sweet?
Eli is loving all the new baby items around the house. He stopped taking a pacifier at 16wks old, so he has no idea what to do with it when he puts it in his mouth. (We wash it off, I promise.)
Ready to hit the road. I was sad to leave the hospital. It's nice having people check on you and reassure you that your baby is doing great. I have a feeling it's the last time I'll have a baby there too which is bitter sweet.
So on August 18th I woke up at 6am to go to work. I got in the shower and I was having very intense contractions, every 4minutes, lasting at least a minute each. I thought I was having Braxton Hicks contractions and I was worried I would be late to work because I couldn't function. I tried resting, walking, drinking water . . .whatever I could think of to get them to go away. Finally after a 1/2 hour, I told Carl to pack his bag and call the doctor. My contractions were never this bad with Eli so I knew it was time, plus I was supposed to have a csection this time (scheduled August 25th). We drove to St. V's in rush hour traffic and by the time we got to the hospital my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart (horribly painful) and Baby Kate was ready. If we had delayed any longer or gotten stuck in traffic, we would have had a baby in the car. The nurse stopped the c-section they were getting ready to do and wheeled me in instead. My doctor and Carl came in at 8:26 am and Kate was born at 8:27am. It would have been a perfect natural delivery! Ha! For some reason my deliveries are always dramatic. Anyway, she is perfect and we love her so much! Welcome to the world Kate Elizabeth!
