She's Pure Sugar and So Much Fun,
Our Sweet Kate has turned One!!
Speaking of sugar....
Opening her first gift on Birthday Morning.
Grandma and Grandpa Schultz brought over donuts for breakfast and lots of goodies for Kate.
After lunch, Nana, Papa, Mimi and Don stopped in for a few minutes to see the birthday girl. She loves her new chair. She kept saying, "Wow, wow!"
Then it was time for a birthday nap. How sweet is this picture?
The next day we had a Strawberry Soiree.
Here are a few photos of party details....
The yummy cake from A Couple of Sweet Things. I was glad she couldn't eat it all, because we have left overs! Ha!
The cupcakes from Sam's were surprisingly delicious too. The cupcake toppers were from Etsy, and I made the cupcake stands with cheap candle holders and pretty plates from Old Time Pottery. Score.
The kids had peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches, strawberry jello, chocolate covered strawberries, and strawberry milk for lunch. The adults had pulled pork sandwiches from Smokin' Hog, strawberry spinach salad, corn bread and some other snacks.
Eli wasted no time getting to the Strawberry milk. His favorite.
I got the idea to make these sweet floral arrangements from my friend, Andrea. They were super easy.
The kids "picked strawberries" filled with goodies.
I hung a picture of Kate from each month and the day she was born from the mantel. I quite liked it there. I may do this every season.
Guest of honor.
I was so glad Mo and Silas could make it. Everybody loves them. She made some sweet onesies for Kate, and some bath paint and fun sponges for Eli. So creative.
Seriously love these thighs!
The Osbornes are always there for our kids. They are so fun. Nicole just wrote a children's book, and I was excited to get a copy!
Taylor and Darci made it to the party too. How great are Tay's curls?
Kate playing ball with Reed and Taylor. Reed is so funny. He has so much gusto.
These two were laughing at me for trying to take pictures with the lens on the camera. I was a little tired, OK?
Birthday Kate. I can't believe a whole year has gone by....
I am so thankful for this little family, and that we made it through our baby years with two healthy, happy little ones!
Happy Birthday to you sweet Kate! She sings "Happy, Happy" whenever you sing Happy Birthday to her.
Her first taste of the best cake ever!
A little help from Big Brother.
All done.
Time for whole milk . . .big girl!
The best gift was having Mimi and Don at her birthday party! They visited Adam at IU the next day and went to Ben's soccer game too.
Winding down.
It's her party and she'll cry if she wants to. Nap time?
I didn't let her eat this cupcake, I just wanted a picture of her sweet hands near it.
Happy 1st Birthday Kate! And many more....
This one year old is So Big!
My, oh my, where does our time go? Kate has been the perfect fit for completing our little family of four this past year. Her little personality is really blooming, and she is even getting a bit sassy, which is just funny. She loves dolls and stuffed animals and balls. She says momma, dada, Hi Eli, Thank you (day do), byebye, baby, duck, dog, one (none), papa, nana, bing, boom, Ado and she can make siren sounds. She is a really good eater, not as picky as her brother(and dad). She has found my shoulder to snuggle up to this past week, and that has been a lovely surprise from this independent girl. She loves her daddy, and says, "hi dada" anytime she hears a door open or close. We have started the weaning process and she is doing great so far, but I knew she would. She still takes a pacifier when she is sleepy, but the doctor said we don't need to take it away from her just yet. I wish I could stop time for just a moment and carry, see, hear, and feel her and Eli, at this age, in my heart forever.
I love you as big as the sky sweet Kate!
