Lately we have been enjoying our little one year old.
I'm pretty sure the zoo is the best money we spend all year! It's entertainment for everyone and we go often.
Blowing kisses. He was really excited to see the elephants, but I think he liked the seals the best. We were sad that the petting zoo was closed for the year, however the new tiger exhibit was great!
Happy Mother's day to me, everyday! Eli is such a cuddler.
I love his chubby little feet in flip flops.
So sweet.
He fell asleep with his hand on his belly button.
Best Pals.
We are so glad he still loves the swimming pool this year!
Busy babe.
He also loves to be outside. It cracks me up that he calls birds on the ground "chickens", but birds in the tree's are "birds".
He loves his swingset, sandbox, pirate ship, and wagon. Our back yard is a farmer's field and he has been seeing a lot of the tractor, which makes him really happy.
How old is Eli?
He finally climbed/fell out of his crib. We ordered a big boy bed (sniff, sniff), but until it comes in, I have to either rock him all the way to sleep before I lay him down (we're talking an hour or so), or let him fall asleep in our bed (which for some reason takes about 5minutes) and then move him to his crib.
He has been helping with the construction on the house.
He loves to play with his birthday invitation (and all other trains). Good thing he can't read because my prego brain put the wrong month on them!
I love you big as the sky Mr. Eli!
I thought I should get him on video saying he is one before we teach him that he is two!
Eli is so much fun these days. He talks non-stop! I have to admit that I thought 18months was a really hard age, perhaps because I wasn't feeling very good, but I think it was hard for Eli because he couldn't communicate. Now that he can tell us what he wants, he is such a happy, fun little guy.
He loves his sweets. One week when he had a cold, Nana brought over his favorite, chocolate donettes. The next morning when he woke up I heard him in his room yelling, "Donettes, where are you??"
He likes playing with cars and trains and tractors and balls, and anything outdoors. He is still into Curious George and "Hotdog", but has been asking to watch Dora, Lady and the Tramp, and Bambi more often.
He is very cuddly. When I put him to sleep at night he grabs my face with both hands and pulls it against his cheek. He gives great big hugs and sweet Eskimo, butterfly and regular kisses. When he needs help with something he'll say "hand" and hold your hand to lead you where to go, the he says "Help you?".
I can't believe he is going to be two soon! We are loving this age though and I look forward to what the next year brings!
On a side note, his sister, Baby Kate, is doing well. We went to the doctor today, and unlike Mr. Eli, she is measuring right on time. I think she might even stay put to full term. Time will tell. Currently she has about 10 shades (no joke) of pink on the wall in her bedroom, because pink is a hard color to pick! Hopefully we will be ready before she is!
